Beltin' It Out

Despite London Fashion Week being a bust, one thing I did really enjoy on the day (apart from the great company I was in) was my outfit. I wanted to wear something chic but still simple and most of all comfortable. I think I nailed it and a found a new super fast styling hack to boot.

This belted scarf look is so simple yet, I think, really effective. It looks thoughtful because not many people think to wear a scarf this way but actually it's so easy to thrown on over an otherwise 'meh' outfit giving you an instant style upgrade. The scarf is from Zara and was in my What I Got For Christmas haul video. I've wanted a blanket scarf and have no idea why it took me so long but it's been such a game changer this season. If the style it just right it adds instant glam and hides a multitude of fashion faux pas too!

Styling the scarf this way essentially turns it into a dress, or a pretty top really as you still need to wear a bottom layer to save your modesty in the back! But from the front is has the full impact of a chic dress. This works well with thin sheer scarves too, just layer over a tank top to make your outfit look more sophisticated and individual.

Scarf: Zara | Hat: Topshop | Bag: Carvela by Kurt Geiger | Shoes: ASOS | Watch & bracelet: Michael Kors | Earrings: H&M

I know I wore these shoes in my last outfit post and I make no apologies for it. Cost per wear is so important when shopping chic on a budget and these affordable ASOS babies are going to end up being practically free! They're giving me major designer vibes too since lace ups have been a long-running trend of late, never a bad thing.

You know I love a bit of matchy-matchyness so I couldn't resist breaking out my rose gold tone sunglasses - eBay if  you please - to match my gold jewellery. Check out my nails. This DIY gold glitter ombre mani seriously made by week. So fricking pretty. I really recommend giving it a go for an instant pick me up!

Did you clock the dangly earrings? Adulting SO hard. I spotted how having my hair nearly completely hidden could be a little harsh so earrings add a touch of femininity to balance this out. They're asymmetric FYI. I mixed and matched a cool old pack of padlock earrings I picked up from H&M, Barcelona to keep it young and less Pat Butcher-esque (UK TV reference for my international readers - Google it!).  I'm not gonna lie, I'm not a huge fan of super cheap jewellery. The nickel in it tends to irritate my skin and these were no exception. Having said that, I'm not about to drop hundreds of pounds on solid gold padlock earrings so a trend piece like these are fine to wear to lunch for a couple of hours every now and then.

Makeup-wise I'm really into soft neutral tones, pinky nudes and soft golds, so I stuck to this palette today, especially as there's already so many details going on with the outfit. Let me know what you think!
